Thermal Transfer Printers

If you need more than just a box!

Thermal transfer printers work in one of two ways, either by a print head supplying heat through a printer ribbon on to the label media, or by a print head supplying heat directly on to the label which itself contains heat sensitive ink. This latter method is referred to as thermal direct printing, and is useful in that it does away with the need for a print ribbon, meaning the only thing you need to worry about running out is the label spool.

Thermal Transfer PrintersThermal transfer printers vary in size depending on their intended application, allowing for the rapid production of barcoded labels at whichever location they are required, whether in the office, on the warehouse floor or out on the road with a consignment. Your printers will form a key part of any asset tracking or inventory control system, so it's vital to get this selection right.

Modern thermal transfer printers also come with a high level of connectivity, with many offering Ethernet, parallel/serial, USB and wireless connection options to the host network. Many are often miniature PCs in themselves, with different software options and their own configuration interfaces.
